────────────────────────────────────
Introduction
────────────────────────────────────

One of the great joys of visiting Korea is, without doubt, the food. While
recovering after a procedure or checkup, or for a special final dinner of
your trip, few options beat Seoul's MICHELIN restaurants.

2026 marks the 10th anniversary of the MICHELIN Guide in Korea, with a
record number of new and promoted starred restaurants. Seoul alone has 42
starred restaurants (1 three-star, 10 two-star, 31 one-star), plus 71
reasonably priced Bib Gourmand spots and 116 Selected establishments.

This guide organizes the Seoul MICHELIN restaurants international visitors
should know by tier, and covers reservations, cost and dining tips.

────────────────────────────────────
Understanding the MICHELIN tiers
────────────────────────────────────

The guide is broadly split into three.

2) Bib Gourmand
Great food at a reasonable price — usually under KRW 30,000, the symbol
of value gourmet.

3) Selected

How to enjoy it
────────────────────────────────────

[Choosing by tier]
For a special day, go for three-star Mingles or a two-star (Jungsik, Mosu,
Mitou, Sosuheon). For a reasonable treat, a one-star course or Bib Gourmand.
For vegetarian, a vegan option like Gosari Express is great.

[Reservations]
Popular starred restaurants mostly require advance booking, and many fill
up weeks ahead. Book early via reservation platforms, hotel concierge, or
PrettyKeep. No-shows may incur fees — cancel if your plans change.

[Etiquette]
- Many courses run 2–3 hours or more, so allow time.
- Some places recommend smart-casual or above.
- Note allergies, religious diets (halal, etc.) and vegetarian needs when booking.

For medical-tourism visitors
- Right after a procedure or surgery, avoid spicy or hard foods where advised.
- After dental/oral/facial procedures, choose softer courses or schedule your
visit after recovery.
- For alcohol pairings, follow your clinic's guidance on drinking.
